Mountain View Prospect
Dart also has a number of very prospective gold projects including Mountain View. The Mountain View prospect is in the Dart Goldfield about 45 km south of Corryong, to the west of the main Corryong to Benambra road, north east Victoria.
The Dart Goldfield comprises a number of shallow mines from the 1890s where the gold is associated with sulphide rich lode structures along a 10 km strike. Detailed mapping and sampling over 2 km of the strike centred on the main historic workings has identified a series of gold lenses at Mountain View consisting of the New Discovery, Main Lens, Western Anomaly, Golden Bell, South Golden Bell and other minor historic pits within Dart’s tenements. Limited drilling to date on two of the lenses has identified a high grade gold lode with intersections up to 2m @ 59.3 g/t Au. Drilling identified high-grade gold along a 120m strike (open to the north) with results including 6m @ 7.8 g/t Au (including 2m @ 19.3 g/t Au) and 4m @ 8.72 g/t Au (including 1m @ 18.75 g/t Au).
Further geophysical investigations followed by close spaced RC drilling is warranted and has the potential to identify additional parallel mineralised lenses and to further extend the known mineralisation to the north.
